Serene Summer Elopement: Lake Crescent
Grab a cup of coffee and get cozy because I have a story to tell you. So, last summer I had the most incredible experience photographing an intimate elopement at Lake Crescent, just outside of Port Angeles, Washington. Let me just say, it was pure magic!
You know, summer in the Pacific Northwest can be a bit crowded with tourists, but somehow we managed to find our own little slice of solitude amidst the hustle and bustle. Lake Crescent shimmered under the warm summer sun with it’s bright turquoise water.
As a photographer, I strive to capture the essence of a couple's love and the beauty that surrounds them. And let me tell you, this elopement was overflowing with love and breathtaking scenery. We ventured off the beaten path, away from the crowds, and found ourselves in these serene pockets of nature that felt like something out of a dream.
The moody, dreamy atmosphere of the Pacific Northwest lent itself perfectly to creating these intimate moments between the couple. Surrounded by towering trees, misty mountains, and the stillness of the lake, it was like time stood still. As the couple exchanged their vows, the soft rays of sunlight peeked through the foliage, casting a beautiful glow that illuminated their love.
Being an Olympic National Park photographer has allowed me to capture some truly awe-inspiring moments, but this elopement holds a special place in my heart. It reminded me of the power of nature to create a serene and intimate backdrop for love to flourish. And it reminded me why I fell in love with photography in the first place – to freeze these fleeting moments in time, forever etching them onto film.
