A Summer Forest Elopement at Lake Quinault

A MAGICAL SUMMER FOREST ELOPEMENT

Maggie and Chris reached out and wanted to elope in a dreamy location that “screamed PNW” . Olympic National Park immediately came to mind. Known for it’s lush green forests, giant ferns, fluffy hanging moss, bigfoot, and occasionally the Cullens, it was truly the perfect spot for these two. We decided that Lake Quinault would be a great starting point as it’s surrounded by forests and the water is the brightest blue with mountains behind it. Not far from the Lake Quinault Lodge there is a little waterfall which you can walk right up to that I love to take my couples to and it always makes for some stunning photos. The coast is only about 45 minutes from Lake Quinault so we decided to end out magical day at Kalaloch Beach. I think this little part of Olympic National Park is so great since it’s not quite as bustling as some other spots during the summer months. With a little knowledge with locals like myself we can find intimate areas to enjoy just to ourselves.

The Dress

For their rainforest elopement in the Olympic National Forest, the bride chose a beautiful white, sheer, shimmery wedding dress with a plunging neckline and star appliques. This dress was perfect for a dreamy, romantic day in the woods at Lake Quinault, Washington State. The bride looked stunning against the lush backdrop of the PNW forest, and was the perfect complement to their unique PNW elopement. With a talented PNW photographer to capture every moment of this special day, the bride’s dress choice created unforgettable memories and pictures.

The Bouquet

For a forest elopement in the Washington state rainforest of Lake Quinault and the Olympic National Forest, a bouquet of fresh, in-season autumn colors and tones was put together by the PNW photographer to complete the look. This PNW elopement was made extra special with a romantic bouquet of seasonal favorites, like mums, roses, and lilies, all gathered together to create a stunningly natural and truly unique statement piece for the forest wedding. Adding a beautiful splash of color to the Rainforest Elopement, this bouquet truly brought the entire wedding day to life.

The Picnic

With ancient ferns surrounding Lake Quinault in the Olympic National Forest, the couple decided to have an intimate picnic. With their PNW photographer in tow, they enjoyed a slice of their wedding cake and a champagne toast amongst the lush rainforest. The afternoon sun illuminated the forest as the lovebirds had a picnic for two in the heart of the Pacific Northwest. It was an incredibly romantic and memorable moment that was unique to their PNW elopement.

The Cake

For a rustic PNW elopement, the cake had to have just the right amount of whimsy. A local Washington State bakery SUGAR PEARL DESERT crafted a special cake for this Lake Quinault and Olympic National Forest elopement. The cake featured buttercream frosting, champagne cake flavor and raspberry filling, topped with fresh flowers that matched the bouquet.

The Perfect Ending

To end their rainforest elopement in Washington State, the couple wanted to take photos by the coast. With the help of their PNW photographer, they drove to the coast. With the sun setting, they had lanterns in hand as they walked along the beach. They laughed and cuddled as the lanterns shined in the night sky, creating a beautiful scene that was the perfect ending to their PNW elopement.
